How should I take the medicine?

Take this medicine with an adequate amount of water as directed by the physician. Do not take 

this medicine in small or larger amounts than recommended.

How this medicine works:

Amoxicillin helps in killing bacterial cells by preventing the growth and development of bacterial cell walls. Clavulanic acid helps in the inactivation of enzyme synthesis that is important for bacterial growth.

Drug interactions:

  • Methotrexate -major

The use of this medicine with methotrexate may result in the increase in the serum levels and effects of methotrexate. This may cause serious side effects like mouth ulcers, vomiting, lowering of blood cell counts etc. Inform your doctor if you experience any unusual signs and symptoms and your doctor may consider either the dose adjustment or any alternative medicine based on your condition and the therapeutic response with the medicine.

  • Warfarin- Moderate

The use of this medicine with warfarin may result in the increase in the risk of bleeding especially in old or elderly patients who are already known to have liver or kidney impairment. Inform your doctor if you experience any unusual signs and symptoms like blood in urine, stools, headache, weakness etc, your doctor may consider either the dose adjustment or any alternative medicine based on your condition and the therapeutic response with the medicine.

  • Tetracycline- Moderate

The use of this medicine with tetracycline may result in a decrease in the effectiveness of this medicine. Your doctor may consider any alternative medicine based on your condition and the therapeutic response with the medicine.

  • Doxycycline- Moderate

The use of this medicine with doxycycline may result in a decrease in the effectiveness of this medicine. Your doctor may consider any alternative medicine based on your condition and the therapeutic response with the medicine.

Alcohol interactions:

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended while taking this medicine as it may cause interactions and lead to serious adverse effects and may worsen the health condition.
